John Allen is Managing Director of DataMaster Australia Pty Limited.

Mr Allen is a specialist in the construction and implementation of high density, local area industry and labour market databases as part of an holistic economic development strategy. He has personally established these local information resources in 12 local government areas throughout Queensland and New South Wales and has assisted the construction of other “self-help structures” using the same software, statistical frameworks and data collection methodologies.

Mr Allen’s career history includes 11 years in the manufacturing sector in Brisbane, 2 years National Service including service overseas, 10 years as Trade Development Officer and senior Australian on staff for the Queensland office of the British High Commission, 10 years as an economic development consultant to local government in Queensland, 3 years as Economic Development Officer in Fairfield City Council (Western Sydney) and 3 years as Chief Executive Officer of the Tamworth Regional Development Corporation Limited.

Within this period, he has been an administrator for a central Queensland regional Chamber of Commerce, Counsellor to the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce, President of a local (Brisbane) Chamber of Commerce, co-director of a number of small companies employing up to 15 staff in the import/export and personal services industries and lecturer in marketing at the Central Queensland Institute of TAFE.

John is a member of the Regional Science Association of Australia & New Zealand.
