Mrs. Allen is a Director of DataMaster Australia Pty Limited. She is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Service Industries Skills Council (2004) and is responsible for managing the development and maintenance of training packages and support materials for the wholesale, retail, personal services, tourism and hospitality and sport and recreation industries. Jeanette is taking a leadership role in the development of international recognition of a range of vocational qualifications with a number of countries and has achieved international benchmarking of National Qualifications with South Africa, United Kingdom and New Zealand
Jeanette commenced her working life as a Hairdresser and remained in the industry for 22 years moving from senior operator and manager to salon owner with 2 salons and 15 staff. Following the sale of her businesses, Jeanette commenced working as a vocational education teacher and continued in a number of roles in TAFE over the next 11 years. During that time, she also completed her studies to Masters level.
Jeanette moved from the TAFE sector to the private sector in 1998 following her appointment as Executive Director of the Wholesale Retail and Personal Services Industry Training Council Inc. In 2004, with the merging of 3 industry training councils, Jeanette was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Service Industries Skills Council.
Jeanette was appointed Director of Worldskills Australia in 2005 and Chairperson in 2007.
Jeanette holds a Master of Education (Curriculum Development), a Bachelor of Education (Curriculum Leadership), a Diploma of Teaching (TAFE) and a Certificate in Hairdressing (Sydney Technical College).
